Freedom Corp. board makes public statement regarding Emergencies Act inquiry report.
During a press conference at Canadians for Truth studios, Tamara Lich spoke on behalf of Freedom Corp., the group including, arguably, two of the most controversial and influential Canadians from the Freedom Convoy, Tamara Lich and Chris Barber.
So controversial in fact, that the two can only travel together when accompanied by an entourage of lawyers. Freedom Corp. lawyer Keith Wilson opened the press conference by stating, "Tamara has crazy gag orders on her, as per her bail conditions, because the Prime Minister is so afraid of her and doesn't want her to speak." Therefore, live-streaming was strongly discouraged; however, recording was allowed. These debilitating conditions come after their arrests in Ottawa, Ontario last year, and are essentially the direct result of their lead roles in uniting Canadians through social media, and, more likely, a wildly successful fundraising campaign.
Lawyers Keith Wilson and Eva Chipiuk sit on the Board of Directors for Freedom Corp.
Lich began by introducing the board of directors for Freedom 2022 Human Rights and Freedoms, aka "Freedom Corp.", and said that collectively, they are disappointed with Friday's public inquiry report, referring to it as a sad day for Canada.
"We hope that the report adds fuel to the desire for our fellow Canadians to hold our government to account," said Lich, and after reading the report, they realize "the government used innocent Canadians who participated in good faith at the hearings, as nothing more than puppets for the government's political theatre, designed to protect the prime minister."
In their view, the justification was given, not because the Freedom Convoy was a threat to national security, but rather, to protect the failures of government and police authorities, especially the federal government, for not speaking with protesters.

"The Freedom Corp. was effective, the government was not."
As a result of this decision, Lich states that government incompetence is now the threshold for suspending civil liberties and suspending bank accounts in Canada. Aside from this major disappointment, Freedom Corp. remains proud of Canada and fellow Canadians and strongly encourages them to hold their elected officials to account.
"We continue to witness government overreach and authoritarian actions by our government. If this is not the Canada we all want, we all need to be loud and clear and ask every elected official take a stand, to stand by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Rule of Law, and advocate for amendments to the Emergencies Act, so it cannot be abused again."
Lich and many others are facing a 400 million dollar class action lawsuit later this year, in addition to their criminal trials. The road is steep, and this latest decision from the Public Inquiry doesn't help matters. What was intended to be a fair and effective process into the decision to invoke the Emergencies Act, turned out to be nothing more than yet another waste of taxpayer time and money. Invoking such a powerful act to deter what was referred to as nothing more than a game of "whack-a-mole", has effectively shone a bright light on the major incompetencies of the federal government and its counterparts.
The Public Order Emergency Commissioner's decision not only dismisses the concerns of Canadian citizens, but also attempts to diminish the divisive rhetoric from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who called Canada's own citizens 'domestic terrorists', 'misogynists', and asked whether they should be tolerated. Eva Chipiuk pointed out that the Prime Minister's misinformation and disinformation campaign to divide innocent and peaceful Canadian citizens is what diminished the prospect of productive discussion in Ottawa. It's his divisive rhetoric is what is causing a tear in the fabric of Canada. But you won't see that in the report.
